Hjort Knudsen takes care of the whole process in the furniture manufacturing and we produce in our own factories. The company is in charge of design and the product development takes place at the factory in West Jutland. Here we also test comfort, durability of the frame parts and the functionality of the technical solutions. The distribution to more than 900 retailers in Northern Europe is carried out by our own trucks. Thus we take responsibility for the furniture every step of the way to the shop. Our Policy. It is our goal to create durable furniture in a modern design with the best possible comfort. Concerning construction and choice of material we have attached great importance to the fact that upholstered furniture has to last for many years. Except for a few models all our sofas have HR foam in the seat, back and arms. The seat has no-sag springs and the back strong rubber webbing. All central frame parts are of either birch plywood or in full wood. Also our recliners have HR foam and no-sag springs in both seat and back and the arm frame is constructed in strong birch plywood. The History. Hjort Knudsen was founded in 1973 by Ina and Arne Hjort Knudsen who are still active in the company. The production was mainly based on leather goods but after some years it developed to the production of recliners. From this long experience in working with leather materials we have tried to create the most satisfactory product for the consumer. Today the production covers both recliners and sofas in leather and fabric and hereby we are one of the few suppliers who can deliver sofa sets matching our recliners. Hjort Knudsen A/S is a private limited company. Klaus Hjort Knudsen is the managing director and over a number of years the company has been in well-consolidated growth. |
